Over the past month, the story of Montclair State wrestling has been told from multiple perspectives. In just one year's time, one of the most successful wrestling programs in Division III was cut, reinstated and cut once again. The perspectives of the wrestlers, coaches and administration have all been expressed.
"There is always pressure being the favorite; however, this is a very obtainable goal for us this year." The goal that junior captain A.J. Bachman is referring to is winning the Skyline conference this season. And for the Men's Lacrosse team, the pressure comes from being picked unanimously by the conference coaches.
Montclair State Men's Lacrosse returned to action last Wednesday when they faced Centenary College at Sprague Field. The Red Hawks got things going in the first period. They scored two goals in the first six minutes of play, the first by junior Mario Passafiume.
In heavy rain last Saturday afternoon, the Men's Lacrosse team traveled to New York to play Roger Williams University (RWU). In the first period, Roger Williams got things going with an early lead. Beaver Marrone of RWU notched a pair of goals in the first; he got one at the 6:22 mark with his assist from Drew Smith and scored an unassisted one with exactly 2:18 left.
